The highly localized acacia specialist Red-faced Barbet can be spotted around Akagera Game Lodge grounds. After birding, set off to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Akagera game lodge.

Wake up on the morning, have breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for briefing about Chimpanzee tracking experience in Nyungwe forest national park. You will then be assigned to a ranger guide and start your trail into the forest in search for a family of chimpanzees. Watch out for other primates like L’Hoest’s monkey, Angola colobus and birds during your trek. Upon meeting the chimps, spend a full hour with them and later retire and drive back to your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe top hill view lodge.
After breakfast, drive as you bird to Ruhengeri / Musanze for your next adventurous tour in Volcanoes national park. This park is a home to several primates including the gentle mountain gorillas and golden monkeys as well as over 180 bird species such as the handsome Francolin, Rwenzori Turaco; Archer’s Robin-chat and both Dusky and Shelley’s Crimson wings. Check in your booked lodge, either relax or bird around the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge.
Have breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for briefing about the most thrilling primate watching experience in Rwanda. You will be allocated in a maximum group of 8 and later start your trek into the deep jungles of Volcanoes national park. You will meet several birds such as Grauer’s rush warbler, dusky crimson-wing, Rwenzori batis, Rwenzori double –collared Sunbird, handsome francolin, Rwenzori turaco, strange weaver, collared Apalis, red-faced woodland warbler, Archer’s ground robin among others and several primates and tree species during your safari.
