The season of June to September is the main fruiting period with abundant food which attracts a number of birds, and many birds are always in breeding plumage hence offering the best birding experience. Migratory birds can be spotted in several birding destinations in Uganda from November to April.

From December to February and June to July, the park experiences low rainfall while from March to May and September to November expect heavy rains which might cause delays due to impassable roads and slippery hiking trails hence limiting your bird-watching time.

Day 1: Arrival

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet and great our company representative and your birding guide. Transfer to your booked hotel for check in, briefing about your 11 days Uganda bird watching and photography safari and relaxation. Have dinner and overnight stay at Via Via Hotel.

Day 2: Full day Birding in Entebbe and Photography

Wake up in the morning for a cup of coffee and head to Entebbe major birding areas to start your safari including a visit to the Botanical Gardens and Uganda Wildlife Education Center in search for birds like, Superb Sunbird, Lesser Jacana, Green Throated and Collard sunbird, Olive, Yellow Backed and Golden Backed weaver, Olive Bellied, Grey Woodpecker, Slender Billed, Black Headed, Ashy Flycatcher, Green Crombec, Klaas’s, Emerald and Diederik Cuckoo, Gabor Goshawk, Lizzard Buzzard, Bat Hawk, Ross’s and Great Blue Turaco, Palm Nut Vulture, Eastern Grey Plantain-eater, Pink-backed Pelican, Yellow-billed Stork, Yellow White-eye, Purple-banded Sunbird, African Jacana among others. Day 3: Birding in Mabamba wetland – Transfer to Lake Mburo national park

Have breakfast and drive to Mabamba swamp in search for shoebill stork and other water bird species like Red-headed Love-bird, Speckled Mousebird, African Fish Eagle, Purple Swamphe, African Jacana, White-throated Bee-eater, White-faced Whistling Duck, Veilots’ Black Weaver, African Marsh Harrier, African Pigmy Goose, Black Crake, Long-tailed Cormorant, Goliath Heron, Great Cormorant, Shining Blue Kingfisher, Black Heron, African Green Pigeon, Orange Weaver, Gull-billed Tern, Hadada Ibis, Woodland Kingfisher, White-winged Tern, Wood Sandpiper, Black-crowned Night Heron, Black-crowned Waxbill, Black-headed Heron, Black-winged Stilt, Black-headed Weaver, Blue Swallow, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater, Common Sqacco Heron, Spur-winged Goose, Long-toed Lapwing, Malachite Kingfisher, Common Sandpiper, Double Toothed Barbet, Glossy Ibis, Cattle Egret, Common Moorhen, Great White Egret, Great White Pelican, Green Cuckoo, Grey Heron, Grey-crowned Crane, Harmerkop, Little Egret, Little Stilt, Marsh Harrier, Spur-winged Lapwing, Swamp Flycatcher, Winding Cistocola, Northern Brown-throated Weather, Papyrus Gonolek, Pied Kingfisher, Pied Wagtail, Pink-backed Pelican, Village Weaver, Water Thicknee, White-browed Cuckoo, Yellow-billed Kite, Yellow-billed Duck, Pin-tailed Whyda, Purple Heron, Red-eyed Dove. Day 4: Bird Lake Mburo national park- Boat cruise

Have breakfast and head to Lake Mburo national park for game drive / bird watching tour to see birds like Greater painted-snipe, African scops owl, Southern ground hornbill, Blue-breasted kingfisher, Blue-headed coucal, Brown-chested lapwing, Carruthers’s cisticola, Tabora cisticola, Mosque swallow, Papyrus gonolek, Papyrus yellow warbler, Red-faced barbet, Shoebill, White-winged swamp warbler, Yellow-rumped tinkerbird, Hairy-breasted barbet, Bare-faced go-away bird among others. On this day, you will see some wild animals like Zebra, Eland, Topis, Impalas and some other game. Return to the lodge for lunch and later go for boat cruise on Lake Mburo in search for the African Fin foot and other water birds. Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

Have a leisurely breakfast and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park for bird watching tour at Kazinga channel to see bird species like Saddle Bill Stork, Pink-backed pelican, African shoebill, Open-Billed Stork, Yellow-billed stork, Malachite kingfisher, Fish eagle, Pied kingfisher, Papyrus gonolek, African spoonbills, Black Crake and Jacana, Martial eagle, Black bee-eater, Black crake, African skimmer, Darters, Long-tailed cormorant among others. You will also have an opportunity to see some aquatic animals at a very close range like big schools of Hippos, Crocodiles, buffaloes, among others. Retire at your lodge for dinner and overnight at Elephant Hab Lodge.

Day 6: Full day Photographing and birding safari in Queen Elizabeth National park

Today you will have an opportunity to bird most sector of the northern region of Queen Elizabeth national park for ultimate birding experiences. Walk up in the morning and go to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking experiences in Ruhija sector of Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. During your tour, you will spot several bird species including the remarkable batis, Cinnamon-chested bee-eater, Rwenzori batis, handsome Francolin, white-tailed crested Flycatcher, red-faced woodland Warbler, Mountain plus yellow-streaked Greenbuls, western Green Tinkerbird, chestnut-throated Apalises among many others. Return to the lodge for lunch and transfer to lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight stay at Bunyonyi Rock resort.

Day 10: Drive to Echuya forest for birding watching

After breakfast, you will drive to Echuya Forest which is one of tropical rain forests located in the south western Uganda and a core bird watching destinations in Uganda with over 153 bird species recorded. The following are bird species in Echuya forest; Ruwenzori turaco, dusky crimson-wing, Ruwenzori nightjar, strange weaver, red-throated alethe, Archer’s robin-chat, red-faced woodland warbler, collared apalis, stripe-breasted tit, black-faced apalis, kivu ground-thrush, Grauer’s swamp-warbler, yellow-eyed black flycatcher, Ruwenzori batis, blue-headed sunbird, regal sunbird, purple-breasted sunbird among others. Return to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Bunyonyi Rock resort.

Day 11: Transfer back to Entebbe
