Our 4 Days Birding safari in Queen Elizabeth national park takes you to western Uganda to spot several bird species in areas of Kazinga channel, Katwe area, Kasenyi plains and Kyambura gorge like; martial eagle, Amur Falcon, Ovampo Sparrow hawk, African skimmer, black crake, pink backed pelicans, White-winged Warbler, lesser and greater flamingos, Verreaux’s Eagle-Owl, black bee-eater, Harlequin and Blue Quails, Lowland Akalat, papyrus gonolek among others.
Queen Elizabeth national park is the second largest protected area in Uganda and a top destination for bird watching activities with over 600 recorded bird species ranging from endemic birds, migratory birds, aquatic birds and forest bird species.
Besides bird watching activities, visitors may see variety of animals such as elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs in the savannah plains of Kasenyi during game drives and several prinates primates like chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys in Kyambura gorge plus colorful butterflies of the park.
Meet your birding guide from either kampala or Entebbe for briefing and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park for bird watching. You will have a stopover at the Equator for water experience and several brakes to spot birds in the Ramsar sites of Nabajuzi and Kaku swamps to look for birds like Black kite, the White-faced and Fulvous, Dusky Blue, Arrow-marked, African Dusky, Grey wood Pecker among others. Continue to Queen Elizabeth national park arriving late in the evening for dinner and overnight

Wake up early in the morning for heavy breakfast and head to Kyambura for bird watching and chimpanzee trekking experiences. Expect to see birds like African Finfoot, white-winged warbler, Lowland Akalat, African broadbill, blue headed bee-eater, Amur Falcon, Martial Eagle, Bar-tailed Godwit, pink backed pelican, papyrus canary, Black-rumped Buttonquail, African skimmer, Secretary Bird, lesser and greater flamingoes, Chapin’s flycatcher, white tailed lark, White winged Warbler, corncrake, Temminck’s Courser, verreaux’s eagle owl, black bee-eater, papyrus gonolek, Ovampo Sparrow hawk, white-winged warbler among others in Kyambura gorge. Besides birding, you will see several primates including chimps, white and black colobus monkeys, olive baboons and vervet monkeys. Return to the lodge for relaxation and dinner

Have an early morning breakfast and drive to Kasenyi plains for game drive/ birding safari. You will see a number of animals like Elephants, Antelopes, Warthogs, lions, Hyenas and many more and several birds including the African Skimmers, Common Sandpiper, Lesser Swamp-Warbler, Striated Heron, African Spoonbill, Collard Planticoles, African Crake, Grey-headed Gull, Water Thick-knee, and Three-banded Plover, Marsh Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper, Plain Martin, Yellow-billed Ox-pecker etc. Later go for boat cruise trip on Kazinga channel to spot more birds and aquatic animals. Drive back to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, drive to Maramagambo Forest in search for birds like Yellow-bellied and Jameson’s Wattle-eyes, Narina Trogon, Brown and Grey-chested Illadopsis, Shinning Blue Kingfisher, Brown-chested Alethe, Brown-eared Woodpeckers, Black Bee-eater, Least Honey guide, Grey Greenbul, and the African Fin foot. This birding trail will also take you to the bat cave where you may see some pythons and other reptiles. Later driver back to either Kampala or Entebbe through fort portal to end your 4 Days Birding safari in Queen Elizabeth national park.
