Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bukavu

Depending on your pick-up time, you may have a stopover at Nyungwe forest lodge for lunch before continuing with your journey to Bukavu after fulfilling all the board crossing procedures. Day 2: Hiking Mount Kahuzi in Congo.

Wake up and have breakfast, after transfer to the starting point Mount Kahuzi for hiking experience. Mount Kahuzi raises 3308 M High and it is an extinct volcano that forms part of Kahuzi biega National Park.

Trekking Mount Kahuzi takes 4 Hours to the summit while descending to the base takes 3 Hours but this is subject to the physical fitness of the climbers.

During your hike to Mount Kahuzi, you may encounter lots of interesting things that range from primates to different bird species; and you will trail through bamboo forest and sub alpine vegetation.

At the top of the mount, you will explore the magnificent views of Lake Kivu and Bukavu city before descending to the base to meet your guide for a transfer to your booked hotel.

Day 3: Hiking Mount Biega optional gorilla trekking / Nature walks

Have breakfast and head to the park for a second hiking experience. Mount Biega lies at an altitude of 2790m and is the second highest peak in Kahuzi Biega national park just after Kahuzi volcano. The trek takes 3 hours to the summit and 3hour to descend to the base making the entire experience to take a total of 6hrs. Hikers will explore awesome ecological experience whose vegetation is far much different from that of mount Kahuzi.

On this day, you may opt to either take on nature walks to visit a number of trails in Kahuzi Biega national park such as Murais Musisi walking trail, Tshibati Waterfall trail and Mbayo Trail or go for Eastern lowland gorilla trekking experience.
