Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro international airport – Transfer to Arusha National Park

Meet and greet your birding guide, have a quick briefing and start your journey to Arusha national park for game drive / birdwatching tour in search for birds like African fish eagle, African olive pigeon, Augur buzzard, Bar-tailed trogon, Bearded vulture, Black saw-wing, Cinnamon-chested bee-eater, Egyptian goose, Great crested grebe, Hartlaub’s turaco, Little grebe, Narina trogon, Peregrine falcon, Red-fronted parrot, Scaly francolin, Silvery-cheeked hornbill, Southern pochard, Tawny eagle, Verreaux’s eagle among others. You will also encounter some mammals like Giraffe, Buffalo, Zebra, blue monkey and black-and-white colobus, Kirk’s dik-dik and if you are lucky, you might also spot a shy red duiker. After you will proceed to Tarangire national park for dinner and overnight at Tarangire Simba Lodge.

Day 2: Bird Tarangire National park

Have an early morning breakfast and drive to park short birdwatching walk of not more than 4-hours with armed ranger to spot some morning birds such as Black necked weaver, Woodland kingfisher, Superb starling, African marsh harrier, Northern white crowned shrike, White faced whistling duck, Red billed hornbill, Yellow necked spurfowl, Pygmy falcon, Black headed heron among others. Have lunch and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Trees Inn

Day 3 Karatu – Bird Manyara National Park

Have breakfast and drive to lake manyara national park in search for birds like White-faced Whistling Duck, Yellow-billed Duck, Fulvous Whistling Duck, Maccoa Duck, Egyptian Goose, Southern Pochard, Cape Teal, Red-billed Teal,Hottentot Teal, Northern Shoveler, African Pygmy Goose, African Black Duck, Northern Pintail, Common Teal, White-backed Duck, Spur-winged Goose, Comb Duck, among others. Dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Trees Inn

Day 4: Karatu – Bird Serengeti National Park

Have breakfast and we will drive up to Ngorongoro conservation area through Ngorongoro highland up to the entrance of Serengeti national park where we will start our game drive / birding safari heading to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight. On this day, look for birds like; Black-headed gonolek, Usambiro barbet, Fischer’s lovebird, Green-backed woodpecker, Southern ground hornbill, Grey-backed fiscal, Grey-breasted spurfowl, Hildebrandt’s starling, Red-capped robin-chat, Rüppell’s vulture, Rufous-tailed weaver, Grey-crested helmet-shrike, Grey-backed fiscal, Schalow’s turaco, Silverbird, Verreaux’s eagle, Yellow-throated sandgrouse among others.  On this day; you may encounter several animals like Elephant, Giraffe, Hippo,Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Wild Dog, Hyena, Cheetah, Leopard, Lion, golden and black-backed jackal. Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Have breakfast and go for game drive with picnic lunch to cover best parts of Serengeti Central which you couldn’t cover on the last day. Explore the best of Serengeti and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation area where you will overnight on the crater rim. On your trip to Ngorongoro highlands, look out for birds like; African spoonbill, Fan-tailed widow bird, Anteater chat, Augur buzzard, Eastern double-collared sunbird, Egyptian vulture, Greater flamingo, Capped wheatear, Hartlaub’s turaco among others. Dinner and overnight stay at Rhino Lodge

Day 6: Birding Ngorongoro Crater – Transfer to Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport

Have breakfast and go for a short walk of not more than 4-hours with armed ranger to spot birds in Ngorongoro crater like African spoonbill, Augur buzzard, Capped wheatear, Eastern double-collared sunbird, Egyptian vulture, Fan-tailed widowbird, Greater flamingo, Hartlaub’s turaco, Hildebrandt’s francolin, Hildebrandt’s starling, Jackson’s widowbird, Kenya rufous sparrow, Kori bustard, Livingstone’s turaco, Namaqua dove, Northern anteater chat, Red-and-yellow barbet, Rosy-throated longclaw, Rufous-tailed weaver, Scarlet-chested sunbird, Schalow’s wheatear, Speke’s weaver, Verreaux’s eagle, White-eyed slaty flycatcher among others. After, we will take walk inside the crater to see great number of animals living within the crater including Lions, Hyenas, Buffalos, zebra, antelopes and if we are lucky, we may spot Rhinoceros.  Have picnic lunch along the crater lake, and later drive to Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport to end your 6 Days Birding Safari in Northern Tanzania.
