Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport – birding in the Botanical Gardens.

Upon arrival at Entebbe international Airport, meet and greet our company representative and transfer to your booked hotel for check in and briefing sessions. If time allows, you will drive to Entebbe Botanical gardens to start your birding tour. Expect to see birds like; Black-headed, Lizard Buzzard, Woodland, Red-bellied Paradise, Olive-bellied, African Pygmy and Pied Kingfisher, Yellow-backed, Golden-breasted, Vieilot’s Black, Spectacled and Orange Weavers, Northern-black and African Dusky Flycatchers, Green-headed, Marico, African Paradise, Scarlet-chested, Red-chested and Superb Sunbirds among others. Later return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at 2 Friends beach hotel.

Day 2: Bird Watching In Mabamba Wetlands

Have breakfast, head to Mabamba swamp to start your birding safari in search for Shoebill stork and other bird species such as the Blue-breast and Little Bee-eaters, African and Lesser Jacana, Malachite and Pied Kingfishers, White-breasted, Long-toed Lapwing, Purple Swamphen, Lesser Moorhen, Weyns’s Weaver, Black-headed, Grey and Purple Heron, Yellow-billied and White-backed Duck, African Marsh Harrier, Blue Swallow and Red-headed among others. Later; drive to Lake Mburo National Park with stopover at the Equator for water experience. Have lunch and continue with your journey to the park. On your way to your booked lodge, you may spot birds like Little Grabe, Saddle-billed Stork, Spur-winged and Egyptian Geese, Grey-crowned Crane, African Darter, Lesser Moorhen, White-faced and Fulvuos Whistling-Duck, Hottentot Teal and African Jacana among others. Dinner and overnight stay at Rwakobo Rock.

Day 3: Birding in Lake Mburo National Park – Boat cruise

Have breakfast and later start your game drive/ birding watching trip in Lake Mburo national park. This park is the smallest savannah national parks in Uganda and it’s a home to about about 330 bird species and a variety of mammals. Look out for bird specialties in this park such as the rare Shoebill Stork, African Finfoot, Papyrus yellow and White-winged Warbler, African Wattled and Senegal Lapwing, Red-faced, Spot-franked, Brown-chested, Trilling, Long-tailed(Tabora), and Caruther’s Cisticola, Saddle-billed Stork, Greater Snipe, Short-toed and Brown Snake-Eagle, Yellow-breasted Apalis, White-winged Black Tit, Broad-billed and Lilac-breasted Roller, Red-faced and Crested Barbet, Crested and Coqui Francolin among others.  During your 8 Day Uganda Birding and Wildlife Safari in this park, you may meet several animals like Impalas, Topis, Cliffspringers, Elands, Buffaloes, Oribis, Zebras, Warthogs, Baboons among other mammals.

Return to the lodge for lunch, relax and head to Lake Mburo for an amazing boat cruise to see several aquatic wildlife and several other bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at Rwakobo Rock.

Day 4: Birding to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Have a very early morning breakfast and go for a guided nature walk in search for early risers including the major mammals like the Hyenas, Leopards and the only one Lion of the park. After, drive to Queen Elizabeth national park with a stopover in Mbarara for hot lunch. We will drive through the beautiful tea plantations of Bushenyi. You will arrive in the evening, check in to your booked lodge, relax, have dinner and overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay at Elephant Hab Lodge.

Day 5: Bird Watching in Queen Elizabeth National Park – Boat cruise.

Have breakfast and drive to Kasenyi plains in Queen Elizabeth national park for a game drive / birding tour to spot several bird species such as; Black-chested and Brown Snake-Eagle, Temminck’s Courser, Lesser-striped, White-winged, Greater and Lesser Swamp Warbler, Collared Pratincole, African Marsh, African Reed, Red-rumped, Montegu’s and Pallid Harrier, Mosque, Barn and Angola Swallow, Red-capped and Flappet Lark, Sulpher-breasted Bush-shrike, Rufous-naped, Brown-crowned and Marsh Tchagra. After exploring Kasenyi, head to Mweya peninsula for hot lunch and later go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel where you will have numerous opportunities to spot birds like the Grey-headed Gull, African skimmer, Malachite and Pied Kingfisher, Gull-billed and Whiskered Tern, Woodland, White-winged, Wood and Curlew Sandpiper among others.  On this day, you will still meet several wildlife such as Buffaloes, lions, leopards, Elephants, Uganda kobs, hippos and crocodiles etc. Dinner and overnight at Elephant Hab Lodge.

Day 6: Birding towards Kibale National Park.

Today we will go birding in Maramagambo forest to look out for birds like greater flamingo, papyrus canary, white tailed lark, black bee-eater, papyrus Gonolex, pink backed pelican, African broadbill, white-winged warbler among others. You may also meet several primates during your 8 Day Uganda Birding and Wildlife Safari such as Baboons, Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Chimpanzees, L’Hoest’s Monkeys, Red Tailed Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Vervet along the way. You will later drive to Kibale forest national park for check in and relaxation. Dinner and overnight at Isunga Safari lodge.

Day 7: Birding in Kibale National Park – Bigodi swamp.

Have breakfast and head to Kibale forest to look for the Green-breasted Pitta and other species like Blue-breasted Kingfisher, Afep Pigeon, Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird, White-naped Pigeon, Scaly-breasted Illadopsis, Crowned Eagle, Red-chested Owlet, Black Bee-eater, African Grey Parrot, Western Nicator, Little Greenbul, Brown-chested Alethe among others. Return to the lodge for lunch and get ready for an evening bird watching experience in Bigodi swamp. Bigodi swamp is home to over 200 bird species such as the Great Blue Turaco, Brown-eared, Yellow-whiskered, Cameroon Sombre, Diedreric and Klaas’s Cuckoo, Cabanis’s, Little and Joyful Greenbul, Speckle-breasted, and Cardinal Woodpeckers, Red-chested, White-spotted Fluff-tail, Yellow-billed Barbet, Western Nicator, Lesser Honeyguide, Shining-blue Kingfisher, White-tailed Ant-thrush, Green-headed and Collared Sunbird, Red-chested, Dark-capped and White-winged Warbler, Green-throated, Scarlet-chested, Purple-headed Starling and Bocage’s Bush-shrike among others. Dinner and overnight at Isunga Safari lodge.

Day 8: Kibale National Park – Entebbe – Departure

After breakfast, Bird as we head to Entebbe to end our 8 Day Uganda Birding and Wildlife Safari with a stopover in Mityana for hot lunch.
