Day 1: Drive from Entebbe to Kibale forest National Park

We start our 9 Days Birding watching tour in Uganda with a visit to Mabamba swamp in search for a rare shoebill stork and other bird species like; Black Egret, Lesser Jacana, Black Crake, Papyrus Gonolek, Orange weaver, Black-faced Rufous Warbler and Goliath heron. Drive and bird on your way to Kibale forest National Park. This park is home to hundreds of several birds including the African Pitta, Green-breasted Pitta, Afep Pigeon, White-naped Pigeon among others and primates like Grey cheeked Mangabay, L’hoest’s, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, and several butterflies.

Day 2: Bird Kibale National Park – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up in the morning with a cup of coffee and drive to Kibale forest national park to look for forest birds like the endemic Pitta and other Kibale specials like the Red-tailed Ant-Thrushes skulk in the shadows, Scaly-breasted, Red-tailed Bristle bill, Pale-breasted and Brown Illadopsis, Cameroon Somber, Yellow-spotted and Yellow billed Barbets, Slender-billed, Speckled Tinker birds, Honey guide and Spotted, Yellow-crested Woodpecker, Rufous-crowned Eremomela, White-thighed and Black-and-white-casqued Hornbills, Green Crombec, Western Black-headed Oriole among others. Come back to the lodge for early lunch and later return to Kibale forest national park for afternoon chimpanzee trekking experience. This park is known as the best primate viewing area in the world. After drive to Queen Elizabeth national park for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Bird Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up in the morning and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for game drive / bird watching experiences. You see a number of birds in Queen Elizabeth national park such as African finfoot, Grey-winged robin-chat, Collared pratincole, African hobby, African skimmer, Yellow-throated cuckoo,Crab-plover, Broad-billed roller, Ayres’s hawk eagle, Black bee-eater, Black-rumped buttonquail, Common sand martin, Papyrus gonolek, Yellow-bellied wattle-eye, Great blue turaco, Great white pelican, Caspian plover, Heuglin’s gull, Palm-nut vulture, Spotted redshank, Pel’s fishing-owl, Pink-backed pelican, White-winged tern, Red-chested sunbird, Rufous-bellied heron, Shoebill, Western banded snake eagle, White-backed night heron among others. After your birding safari, head to Mweya peninsular for an exciting boat cruise on the Kazinga channel for more bird viewing opportunities and aquatic wild animals like hippos, kob, buffaloes and Nile crocodiles. Return to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Bird watching in Ishasha sector Queen Elizabeth and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Have breakfast and drive to Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park for yet another exciting birding trip on your 9 Days Birding watching tour in Uganda. This journey takes you along the deep and wide dry craters occupied by savanna grasses and the unique western rift valley escarpment. Expect to see the following birds in Ishasha; Senegal plover, African white-backed vulture, Black coucal, martial eagle, white-headed barbet, and grey woodpecker among others along side other wild animals including the tree climbing lions. Day 6: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Experience

Have breakfast and head to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking experiences. During your mountain gorilla tour, you will see a number of bird species such as; White-headed Saw-wing, ameson’s Antpecker, Crested Guinea fowl, Pink-footed Puff back, Barred Long-tailed Cuckoo, Grey Crowned Crane, Waller’s Starling, Yellow-rumped Tinker bird among others. Come back to the lodge for check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for scenic viewing and more birding adventure.
