The mountain gorilla trekking safaris are usually a day activity that starts at 8:00am in the morning. Therefore, you are advised to have an early breakfast on the tracking day before a transfer to the briefing point of any selected Bwindi sector (Please check your permit and know the exact sector to track). Listen to the gorilla tracking rules and regulations. Later you will be allocated to a certain gorilla family with a maximum of 8 people assigned per group. You will then start your trek into the deep tropical forest jungle in search for the mountain gorillas. This journey takes between 1 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After meeting the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend a 1 hour with the gorillas before retiring back to the starting point to pick your certificates.
Mountain gorilla tracking is done in the four sectors of Bwindi impenetrable national park; that is to say; Buhoma, Ruhiija, Nkuringo and Rushaga regions.
